Search Queries
A name or location entered into a search box is sent directly to the outside provider operating that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its results. We do not retain or log those search terms on our systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email or other direct message may be kept long enough to review and answer it. We keep that communication within our organization unless disclosure is required by a valid legal obligation.
Data We Gather Automatically
Our servers receive basic technical details when a page loads:
- Page-view dates and times
- Browser name and version
- Device type and operating system
- IP address assigned to the device
- Pages viewed and time spent on them
- Referring website, when one is supplied
Cookies and Analytics

No Criminal-Record Data on File
Washington County Criminal History does not keep, compile, or sell a personal criminal-record database. Its content explains how to reach the Washington County Sheriff, county courts, Nebraska State Patrol repository, and Nebraska Sex Offender Registry. Visitor information is not assembled into third-party dossiers or consumer reports, and this site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies power the site's search boxes. Their privacy terms, retention rules, and disclosure practices govern information submitted to those tools. We do not control those policies. Review the provider's terms before entering a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to the Washington County Sheriff, Nebraska courts, state agencies, and other outside services. The destination's privacy policy applies after a visitor leaves this site. Read that policy before providing personal data.
Some advertising providers may track activity across websites to select ads. That tracking occurs through the provider's systems and policies.

This resource is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. If such data is identified, a deletion request may be made.
Your Data Rights
Applicable law may provide rights over personal data. Nebraska's Public Records Act governs access to public-agency records, while §29-3523 limits public dissemination of qualifying criminal-history information. Those government-record laws do not turn this private site into a public custodian. Subject to applicable law, a visitor may:

- Ask that inaccurate personal data be corrected
- Seek deletion where the law permits it
- Object to certain forms of processing
